The Birth of Bayou Born BBQ Sauces

My daddy had a special recipe he used for homemade BBQ sauce. As an adult, it was the only sauce I ever made when it came time to BBQ. I adjusted the recipe a bit to tone it down. Friends and acquaintances always raved about it when they ate it. So I decided to begin my own little ‘market testing’. I entered it into a county fair, and when I actually won an award for it, I realized that it really was a great sauce – an award winning one at that.  I entered the competition in as many fairs as I could, which paid off because my sauces won so many ribbons.

I decided to name the sauce “Bayou Born BBQ Sauce” since my daddy was born on the bayou in Louisiana – well, very close to the bayou anyway.  The three original flavors - Original Secret Recipe, The Meat Pleaser, and Habanero Hot are the first three flavors. Jams have been added to the Bayou Born family too! Fiesta Pepper, Peach Habanero, Peachy Keen, and Superb Strawberry will delight your taste buds.

Corey’s Catsup and Christopher’s SweetTang Sugar-Free catsup will be making a comeback soon. The sugar-free catsup came out of the necessity to use flavorful catsup in my sugar-free BBQ sauce. I began entering it in competitions as well, and it started winning blue ribbons. So I added it to the list of condiments to market.

I believe there is a perfect niche for my sauce line in the saturated BBQ sauce market. The BBQ sauce flavor is unique and tasty – approximately 95% of the people who try it like it.  I believe there is a need for sugar-free BBQ sauce and catsup because there are so many people who can not have or do not want to have sugar. Stay tuned for the sugar-free BBQ sauces and jams coming in the future.

I want to give all the glory, honor, and praise to God for these amazing creative ideas.
